Junior Republic has two community based group homes in Indiana
for adolescent males, ages 12-21, adjudicated delinquent or CHINS.
Each home houses nine to 10 youth. GJR accepts youth with diverse
emotional, mental, and behavioral disorders including but not
limited to Reactive Attachment Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Oppositional
Defiant The George Junior Republic Independent Living Program offers structured daily living, supervision, and life space counseling provided by live-in counselor parents. In addition, intensive individual, family, and group counseling sessions are offered by a Master's-level therapist to assist the youth in areas of therapeutic need. The youth also receive intensive life skills instruction in the areas of daily living skills, housing, money management, vocational/employment, career development, education, personal health, transportation, social and interpersonal skills, and life planning. All youth are required to open a saving account and save a minimum of 60 percent of their earnings to use toward independent living expenses.
