The
philosophy of GJR is that troubled children and adolescents should
be treated in the least restrictive environment appropriate to
meet their needs and safety. Many youth can be maintained in
their homes with a structured routine and support systems. The
George Junior Republic community-based program furthers this
philosophy via intensive individual and family interventions
to assist families with addressing barriers to healthy family
relationships and interactions.
This program is designed to avoid
and prevent out-of-home placement by providing daily support,
supervision, and treatment for youth and families. In addition,
the program can be utilized as aftercare following residential
placement for a more successful integration back into the home,
school, and community environment.
GJR currently provides Home-Based
Family Centered Case Management, Home-Based Family Centered Therapy,
Chafee Independent Living Services, Functional Family Therapy,
Supervised Visitation, and Homemaker/Parent Aid Services in multiple
